Is Your Website too Distracting?

Have you ever gone into a grocery store and gotten overwhelmed by the number of choices of let’s say – pasta sauce? With any luck, you find one to buy within 10 minutes.

Research has shown that if there are too many choices, consumers are less likely to buy anything at all, and if they do buy, they are less satisfied with their selection. More isn’t necessarily better.

When your visitors go to your website you want them to focus on what you want them to do next, for instance continue on to another page.

Too much information can be a distraction on your website pages. Offers, advertisements and links to other companies’ products may provide valuable information to your visitors, however, they can also be a distraction. Make sure that any links don’t interfere with your website’s overall goal which is to convert your visitor into a potential customer.
